Full-Time Director of Acting and Theatre Programs
Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit, an international leader in Creative Youth Development, is seeking a Director of Acting and Theatre Programs.
The ideal candidate has a combination of professional acting and/or directing credits, experience doing theatre with teens, and a passion for empowering young people through the arts. This position is primarily responsible for directing and managing Mosaic’s Main Stage Acting Company, a critically-acclaimed actor training and performance program for talented youth ages 12-18 from throughout metro Detroit. The Main Stage Acting season takes place at the 1,100-seat Detroit Institute of Arts main auditorium and the 90-seat General Motors Foundation Mosaic Theater, and the productions are directed by the Director of A&TP and the Founding Artistic Director. Director of A&TP also coordinates and leads all touring by the Main Stage Actors – over the past 22 years Mosaic’s Main Stage Actors and the Mosaic Singers have toured to Africa, Asia, Europe, Canada and 25 states throughout the U.S. including performances at the White House and the Kennedy Center. In addition, the Director of A&TP works with the Associate Artistic Director and Founding Artistic Director to oversee Mosaic’s Second Stage (Intermediate) Acting Company and First Stage (beginner) Acting Programs.
