A Classified Management Position
Review Date: April 27, 2017
Under the direction of the Dean, Visual and Performing Arts, the Director manages the College’s Art Gallery and Community Gallery. In consultation with art faculty, procures and fabricates tools and equipment for diverse instructional programs such as printmaking, painting, and sculpture thus ensuring that both faculty and students maximize instructional opportunity. Develops, curates, and schedules all gallery exhibitions. Receives and prepares art works for exhibition in the gallery. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Four (4) years full-time experience managing an art gallery, which includes technical work experience in exhibition installations.
Master’s degree in Fine Arts may substitute one (1) year of the above experience.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Fine Arts or other related field is required.
A valid California driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s vehicle insurance policy.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Studio Arts or Museum Studies degree.
Demonstrated evidence of four (4) years of professional exhibitions.
