Job Description

Development and Institutional Giving Coordinator

The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, a non-‐for-‐profit cultural organization, seeks an experienced, reliable Development and Institutional Giving Coordinator to work on fundraising efforts. The Development Coordinator will create and administer a development calendar, manage the day-to-day operations of development, design and execute fundraising campaigns, administer grants with the Development Consultant and maintain DonorPerfect software and NYTF databases.

The Development Coordinator reports to the CEO, and will collaborate with the Individual Giving Manager and Development Consultant. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience and interest in writing, excellent communication skills, and an ability to work in a collaborative environment. This position could result in a management track for the right candidate.

Development Operations:
• Facilitate annual solicitation campaigns to individuals
• Design and execute a new membership/subscription program
• Write copy for company messaging
• Process gifts from ask to acknowledgements
• Create donor recognition lists for website, programs and event journals
• Create and manage lists for development/marketing campaigns and generate fundraising reports with DonorPerfect software
• Research and identify prospective donors
• Maintain all development hard copy and electronic files
• Collaborate with marketing and communication staff on fundraising materials
• Attend board meetings as required
• Interact with artistic, outreach, and finance and operations departments

Grant Administration:
• Work with NYTF’s Development Consultant to edit and execute grants and grant reports
• Prepare and Process grant documents and acknowledgements
• Apprentice the grant cycle with NYTF’s Grant Writer and Development Consultant.

Special events:
• Be the point person for event leadership and board members in soliciting donors
• Track contributed income and tickets with DonorPerfect
• Responsible for committee letters and acknowledgements letters
• Collaborate with marketing staff on communications
• Manage guest lists for cultivation and opening night events

• Bachelor’s degree; at least two to three years in non-‐profit/development experience.
• Working knowledge of DonorPerfect, or a comparable program, is required
• Familiarity with MS Office suite programs essential
• Demonstrated skill in writing professional correspondence
• Have a positive attitude, a strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-‐task and manage multiple projects, and a love for the performing arts
• Sense of humor a must
