Job Description

Position Summary:

92Y Center for Education Outreach is seeking qualified and versatile dance teaching artists for the Schools Partnership Program. The Schools Partnership Program provides invited elementary public schools with 20-week in-school dance residencies. Students attend a professional performance at 92Y and the residency culminates with a final performance at the partner school.

Essential Functions:

We are looking for dedicated, flexible, and professional teaching artists specializing in various genres including creative movement, modern, jazz and hip-hop, and African dance. We are open to other teaching styles as well. It is preferred that teaching artists have experience teaching K-5 students, English Language Learners, and Students with Special Needs.

Education, Skills and Experience:
– Degree in dance (preferably with a focus in dance education)
– At least 2 years of dance teaching experience in a public school setting
– The ideal candidate has a passion for dance education and can commit to the duration
of the program (October – May) while maintaining a consistent schedule
– Strong communication skills
