Job Description

University of Dayton Lecturer and Costumer

The Theatre, Dance, & Performance Technology Program in the Department of Communication at the University of Dayton, invites applications for a full time Lecturer and Costumer beginning August 16, 2017.
This position is a non-tenure track position with full benefits that is annually renewable. This faculty member will teach two courses each semester and serve as the Costumer for the program. Costumer responsibilities include hiring, supervising, training, and mentoring student costume assistants and designers; managing the costume budget and inventory; designing, procuring and constructing costumes for all theatre and dance productions; and supervising students in theatre-related activities.

Required: MFA degree in costume design by June 30 2017, or professional equivalent (Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years experience costuming for a reputable professional company), a minimum of 2 years experience costuming theatre productions, experience instructing others in costuming, excellent costume design and construction skills, strong written communication skills.
