The City is seeking a community arts education intern to work across programs with Center for Community Arts team. The intern will support the Center for Community Arts program team in a variety of program areas including youth and adult program administration, coordination, outreach, and marketing.
The Program Intern reports to Center for Community Arts Program Supervisor and supports all areas of the program team. This is a one year, paid part-time internship (10-12 hours per week) with evening and weekend hours as needed.

The Community Arts intern will support a variety of areas within Center for Community Arts throughout the year. The intern will work alongside different members of the program, administrative, outreach and marketing teams as part of a well-rounded internship experience in community arts education. The intern will have the opportunity to visit and support youth and adult classes and work with teaching artists in multiple disciplines. S/he will assist with the organization of community events including Family Art Day, end of quarter performance events, and other events as needed. The intern will take a leadership role in planning and implementing our Youth Art Show in the spring by organizing, cataloging, and installing artwork from our youth classes.
Education and Experience:
This internship is open to recent college graduates or students currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies with current or previous coursework in arts education, studio arts or a related field. Candidates with interest in arts education and/or youth program management are encouraged to apply.

• Understanding of variety of art forms and materials
• Interest in pursuing arts education and / or arts administration
• Able to create, maintain and document schedules, calendars, policies, procedures and systems
• Excellent verbal and written communicator
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Technologically proficient and knowledgeable of social media tools and business apps. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook for business and management operations.
