Full-Time Assistant Director of Finance
The Assistant Director of Finance works with the Director of Finance to manage and maintain ZACH’s financial reporting and analysis, accounting, budgeting, regulatory compliance and special projects, as assigned.
Partners with Director of Finance in establishing month end closing schedule; ensures each month is closed within 10 business days of month end. Compiles various financial statements and ad hoc reporting along with appropriate supporting documentation and materials as directed by the Director of Finance.
Ensures all subsidiary ledgers and general ledger accounts are reconciled in accordance with theatre’s policies and procedures.
Assists Director of Finance with assessment of financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data including analyzing variances from budget. Interface with departmental personnel to obtain information to verify or support financial records.
Review work of lower level employees; assist in training of new employees.
Assists with preparation of annual budgets, forecasting, tax reporting, annual audit of theatre’s financial statements & administration of employee benefit plans.
Partners with the Director of Finance to review and streamline current processes across the organization; seeks new ways to improve efficiency and increase profits; performs cost-benefits/ROI analyses as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to work overtime as needed to complete job duties including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed; may be required to work long hours.
Must be able to function in periods of high stress and conflict, maintain focus in noisy environment, sit for long periods of time and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs of materials without assistance.
EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; or a combination of education and experience that yields the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
10 years relevant experience in non-profit accounting (live producing theatre or performing arts experience preferred.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Computer skills including ability to use computerized accounting & payroll software, spreadsheet/word processing programs, PowerPoint, and email. Advanced Excel skills preferred.
Knowledge of non-profit & generally accepted accounting principles
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of all functions in an accounting department.
Analytical and problem solving skills; high attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision
Demonstrated organizational skills
