Full-Time Arts Administrator
The Arts Administrator will be responsible to develop, monitor and coordinate the planning and administration of programs with the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission and the City of Sacramento.
The successful candidate will have general working knowledge of arts administration, particularly in areas of grantmaking, arts education and public art. Also, the applicant will have demonstrated capacity and/or demonstrated interest in planning and economic development, including creative economy; public policy; access and equity and community engagement; cultural data and research.
A primary responsibility will be direct oversight of implementation of the City’s cultural and creative economy plan, Creative Edge, expected to be adopted in mid-2018.
Five years of professional level experience in planning and administering an arts program or comparable program, including three years of experience at a supervisory level.
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university with a major in art, arts administration, business administration, or a related field.
A Master’s degree in arts administration may substitute for up to two years of the required professional level experience.
Salary: $36.90 – $48.41
