Under the CITYarts Kids for Justice program, the artist will lead workshops encouraging students to discuss social justice and their hopes for their future to achieve as citizens of the world.
Students will visualize their ideas representing justice in the community and dreams for peace. The artist will go with them on trips to museums, galleries, and a trip to the court, to watch a trial in process that will give them an understanding of how the social justice system works.
At the same time, we hope these trips will encourage the students to stay on the right side of the law.
Following the workshops and based on the drawings and ideas of participating students, the artist will create a mock up design for the mural.
CITYarts and the school staff will review the mock-up with the artist before the final drawing is approved in writing by CITYarts Executive and Creative Director, Tsipi Ben-Haim.
The artist will lead the youth group in the painting process on the wall, which will include preparation of the wall,painting, plaque design as well as final steps of sealing the painting and providing instructions for maintenance.
