Position Summary	Under the supervision of the Director of Career Services, the Assistant Director is responsible for providing quality career development services and job search strategies to students and alumni. This is achieved through one-on-one career advisement as well as the management and production of career education programs and events, including skill-building workshops, career fairs, and networking/community-building events. This position will also contribute to the production of publications and marketing materials for these events. The Assistant Director will help lead the department's efforts to prepare students and alumni to compete within the public sector on a global level, expanding career advisement and program offerings in the areas of international public service and participating in efforts to cultivate relationships with key public sector employers; and will work in collaboration with students, faculty, employers, peer schools, and other key stakeholders to achieve the aforementioned goals.
Qualifications/ Required Education	Bachelor's Degree is required.
Preferred Education	Master's degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Education, International Affairs, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Human Resources or related fields is preferred.
Required Experience	This position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in career development, counseling, international public service/affairs, or human resources; and a minimum of 3 years experience in program development and project management.
Preferred Experience	A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an academic environment, public sector organization, and/or in a public service program within a private sector organization is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	This position requires excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with a strong interest in student advisement; knowledge of public/non-profit sectors organizations and hiring trends in international areas and other public/non-profit employment sectors; and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Powerpoint, Excel) and online social media forums.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Familiarity with areas such as urban planning, healthcare administration, and non-profit/government consulting is preferred. Experience working with students is also preferred.
